UCL Preview: Juventus vs Lyon

The last three years of Maurizio Sarri’s career would suggest that he has gone from strength to strength, adapting to the modern trials of football, and that the Juventus team that he will field against Lyon are clear favourites, ready to put goal after goal past them. Lyon have several players missing as a result of injuries, key players have been sold and they currently sit in 7th place in Ligue 1, 15 points off of qualification for next years Champions League campaign. For Sarri and his players, this should be easy going. But Lyon manager Rudi Garcia will certainly come prepared.

UCL Preview: Manchester City vs Real Madrid

Last season’s record breaking Premier League winners finished the year in third place. Manchester City sit 14 points off of the leaders, having already lost more games this season than they did in the year prior. With the league firmly lost, a Champions League trophy would be one of the better consolations. Real Madrid, however, ended their year just two points off Barcelona. The Cristiano Ronaldo chapter appears to have finally ended and Zinedine Zidane can begin working towards a prosperous future. In their competition, Madrid face a team that will leave everything on the field.

UCL Group H: What To Expect

In the most wide open group of this Champions League campaign, drawing a favourite from the teams is nigh on impossible as each team has separate advantages and drawbacks to them. All have a fine balance of both youth and experience and, with that, all have reasons why each team could progress and just as many reasons as to why they could not.
